Making Beads with Fig Tree Shoots

You can easily make your own beads from young tree shoots.I first saw this idea at @foragedfibers feed in which she uses willow and dogwood branches.

In our garden we have a couple of fig trees and some volunteer ones that pop up in odd corners.

So I cut a young shoot and snipped it into small pieces.

Then with a sharp stick I pushed away the soft sap. That’s it!
