•In this video I'm showing you how to sew an applique. You'll also learn how to pin a fabric on another one and remove pins while stitching .

There are some things to pay attention to:
•Pin always perpendicular to fabric. In this example I'm pinning side ways with the end of the pin facing outwards. This way it's easier to remove it while stitching.
•Align the zigzag stitch so one of its legs is right on the edge of the applique fabric and the other leg is inside the fabric. This prevents your fabric from fraying over time.
•When stopping to remove the pin, make sure your machine's needle is down.

•In this third exercise, you'll learn how to make circles.
•It's a good exercise for learning how to coordinate your hands with the speed of the machine.
Tips:
•Always go slow and concentrate.
•If you make a mistake, draw another circle and follow the new line.
•Don't get frustrated, stop once in a while, reposition your hands and keep stitching.

00.00-0.16 Introduction
0.19-0.41 Drawing a circle on the fabric
0.42- 1.30 Starting first row, slowly follow the line
1.32-1.39 Changing the position of hands
2.15-2.26 Moving to the second row and aligning the presser foot
2.43-2.50 Stop and keep sewing
3.32-3.54 As the circle gets smaller go slower but turn the fabric faster

In this second exercise you'll learn how to turn corners while stitching.
•The key point is to lower the needle before turning to stabilize the stitch point. Otherwise it will slide around.
•When you finish one round, stop a foot away from the previous stitch and turn. This way you can align the right edge of the presser foot to the previous stitch line.
•If you went too far just raise the needle and presser foot then re-align the fabric.

Now that you know how to thread your machine, it's time to start
sewing with a basic exercise: sewing straight lines.
With this exercise, you'll get used to the basic movements of rising and lowering the presser foot, controlling the foot pedal, taking the fabric off the machine and cutting the thread.

If you don't know how to thread your machine here's the previous video: https://youtu.be/frGJO1RAd4A

Here's the link to the second exercise, How to Turn Corners: https://youtu.be/2dGUj_WYvkQ

00:14-00:41 Preparations & Sewing A Line
00:41-00:46 Lifting the Presser Foot
00:46-00:56 Loosening & Cutting the Thread
01:04-01:30 Sewing Another Line in Close-Up
01:30-01:48 Lowering the Presser Foot
01:48-02:07 Sewing the Last Line in Super Close-Up
02:07-02:15 Using the Thread Cutter

First of all cut yourself a rectangle of a sturdy fabric (preferably
canvas, because it's easier to control).

1.Set the stitch setting to straight stitch and the stitch width to 2.2

2.Align your fabric with the right edge of the presser foot.

3.Lower your presser foot with the lever on the back.

4.Place you hands lightly on the fabric.

5.Slowly press the pedal with your foot. Keep in mind: the gentler you press, the slower it will go.

6.Keep aligning the right side of presser foot to the edge of the fabric to go straight.

7.Your hands will lightly guide your fabric so it won't move around(don't pull nor push the fabric)

8.When you come to the end,
-stop,
-lift the presser foot,
-wiggle the hand wheel while pulling the fabric away from you to loosen the thread,
-leave at least 10 cm of thread(so it won't come out of the needle when you start the machine) and cut it

9.When you start the second line, align the right side of the presser foot to the previous stitch this time.

Keep going until there's no space left on the fabric.

One of the first steps of making a rib egg basket, is to make God's eye knot, to lash the 2 hoops together. To make this knot, you have to use a very elastic vine such as honeysuckle or bindweed etc.

Only 2 plants grew this far, but I'll save their seeds and try again next spring.

Pamuklar toplanmaya hazır hale geliyorlar! Tohumlarını Mayıs'ta ekmiştim, anca olgunlaştılar. Ektiğim tohumlardan sadece 2 bitki büyüdü, ama olsun, gelecek bahara ekecek birsürü tohumum oldu.

I came across a tall tree laden with berry like fr I came across a tall tree laden with berry like fruits and wondered what it may be. I collected some of the seeds of fallen fruit and went home to inspect them!
They looked very similar to persimmon seeds but much much smaller. So I researched persimmon types and finally found what I was looking for: Diospyros Lotus / Date plum
It turns out that it’s native to eastern Black Sea region
It seems like date plum can be a good addition to a backyard food forest. I'll sow the seeds and see if they come out!
