Being creative doesn't just mean to make something Being creative doesn't just mean to make something new each time. Fixing and mending old things is another way of being creative. Toes of these wool socks that I made last year were really worn out and mending wouldn't help.So I took out the toe part and re-knitted it . Also the rib was loose,so I added a couple of more rows with a thicker yarn. Now they're my favorite socks! ////// Yaratıcı olmak her zaman yeni,daha önce kimsenin yapmadığı birşeyler üretmek anlamına gelmiyor. Eskiyenleri tamir etmek,tekrar kullanılır hale getirmek te yaratıcı olmanın bir yolu. Geçen sene ördüğüm bu yün çorapların burnu öyle yıpranmıştı ki artık yama da fayda etmez hale gelmişti. Ben de burun kısmını söktüm ve tekrar ördüm. Bilek kısmı da gevşemişti.Ona da daha kalın bir yünle ekleme yaptım. It's time to plant potatoes! These are the ones t It's time to plant potatoes! These are the ones that I saved from last year's harvest.I kept them in a paper bag, in a cool,dark place and they have already sprouted! I planted them on the empty spots next to fava beans and collard greens. For each potato, I dug a little hole,dumped a handful of unsieved compost,wood ash and placed the potato,covering it well.They will grow with the spring rains without the need for irrigation. /// Patates ekme zamanı geldi! Bu patatesleri geçen senenin hasadından,kese kağıdında,serin ve karanlık biryerde saklamıştım.Ekilme zamanlarının geldiğini bilip,filizlenmişler bile! For me it means to sort out used coffee cups,yoghurt containers,prepare newspaper cups and be on the look out for any sort of container that can be used as starting seeds. I learned a new and efficent way to water seed tra I learned a new and efficent way to water seed trays: Put some sand into a shallow container, wet the sand throughly, place your seed trays on top of it , fill a small bottle with water and flip it into the sand. It's a wicking system and as the seed trays will draw up the water from the bottom, there will be no problems such as damping off or dried up seedlings.
